Hello and Welcome! Thank you for visiting my page. As you take a look around you will find a lot of information to support you in your learning and you will also learn a lot about me.
This is my 17th year teaching math at the middle school level! I began my teaching career at Capital Area Academy where I taught 6th - 8th grade math and science for four years. I have been at Hope Middle School since 2005 teaching math and science and can't imagine being anywhere else!
I grew up in Dimondale and received my diploma from Holt High School in 1996. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education from Western Michigan University in 2000. I specialized in math and science for 6th - 8th grade. In 2007 I earned my Master's Degree in Administration (k-8th grade) and K-12 Curriculum and Instruction from Western Michigan University.
At Hope Middle School I am the head coach for our awesome Science Olympiad Team. I also help organize the 6th grade trip to Disney. I am involved in on-going professional development to not only make me a better teacher but to make my impact in the classroom more powerful.
I am married to an amazing man who is a fireman/paramedic for East Lansing. We have two children, Max (7 years) and Oliver (5 years). Max is in 2nd grade at Wilcox Elementary and Oliver is in Kindergarten at Wilcox Elementary.
Not only do I LOVE teaching and being a mom, but I also enjoy kayaking, camping, and reading. If I am not at school you can find me playing outside with my boys looking for bugs or cool rocks.
